"Let Us Play Program"
The "Let Us Play Program", was instituted in 2004. It is a new venture for the Blues Alliance of the Treasure Coast. It's aim is to provide used or new musical instruments, free of cost, to students who can not afford to buy or rent their own and would otherwise be left out of functions. We will be contacting schools in the quad-county area, and wish to work with the most needy children. This program is on a limited basis and will progress as we receive donations. Contact our Hot Line at (772)- 467-1851 to donate an instrument or if you know someone in need.
Since it's inception, the "Let Us Play" Program, has been very successful for The Blues Alliance of the Treasure Coast. Due to the security measures in our schools, we find it necessary to recyle our donated instruments outside of school limits and let you know that the basic program is going the same. Donated instruments are still being taken, tax deductibe, and stored until we have a recipient. A letter of need from a child is all that it takes to get their wish of a musical instrument. If there is no recipient, then the instruments are sold, yearly, at our "Bluesale", and the funds are put directly into our Scholarship Fund Account. Each year, two worthy students of music receive scholarship funds to further their education in music.
To donate an instrument, please call: Blues Hot Line-(772) 467-1851. Thankyou
Dear Members, Corporate Sponsor,
Amenstudio.com, has graciously offered to help extend the "Let Us Play Program" with an additional feature. Now, offered to children, is a tour of a real recording studio.
In groups of about five, children can make an appointment to be shown through a state of the art audio, recording studio.
Any groups interested, please call The Blues Alliance Hot Line: (772) 467-1851, we will make the arrangements for you.
Support music, support the BLUES!
At the Alliance last meeting, a vote was taken to present two recycled, smaller keyboards to Tiffany Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Saint Lucie. Lisa Mc Manus, the Activity Director at Tiffany says the keyboards will be used for music therapy sessions for certain patients. Lisa says music keeps the patients happy and gives them something to look forward to in their rehab routine. July, 2007
The Blues Alliance is happy to say that the Kimball organ that was donated to us in memory of Mr. George Ernstof by his daughter, has found a very happy home.
This organ was presented to: Miss Nicolette Smith and her sister, Miss Alexandra Smith of Port Saint Lucie, Fl.
The Smith's had a very difficult time after the hurricanes last year and almost lost their entire home. They are rebuilding still, and the girls are being home-schooled by their Mom, Debbie.
Both girls love music and plan to make music a part of their lifetime achievements.
The Blues Alliance of the Treasure Coast's/ Let Us Play Program, wishes you all the best the world has to offer!
