"Let Us Play Program"
The "Let Us Play Program", was instituted in 2004. It is a new venture for the Blues Alliance of the Treasure Coast. It's aim is to provide used or new musical instruments, free of cost, to students who can not afford to buy or rent their own and would otherwise be left out of functions.
We accept donations from the public!
We will be contacting schools in the quad-county area, and wish to work with the most needy children. This program is on a limited basis and will progress as we receive donations. Contact our Hot Line at (772)- 467-1851 to donate an instrument or if you know someone in need.
Dear Members,
The Blues Alliance has received donations of various types of instruments to donate to children. Our Local Cable Company has been a success in telling the public about our"Let Us Play" Program, thank you Channel 16 at Adelphia. The main goal of the "Let Us Play" Program, as you know, is to find a child that can not afford to buy their own instrument. If you know a child that we can give one of our instruments to, please contact any officer or board member, you may also call our Hot Line at: (772) 467-1851 and leave a message. To be a recipient, all a child has to do is write us a letter with their name and address and a phone number telling us why they would like the Blues Alliance to help them out. That's it! If there is no recipient, the instruments are taken to our ":Blues Sale" and sold, the revenue goes into our scholarship fund to further two students education in music at IRCC each year. However you say it, this program is for children and for students. Remember, all it takes is a letter or a phone call, and a child or student gets their wish. It doesn't take money, it takes the dream to play music. Music is a lifetime profession, you never know how far it will take you. PG
Support music, support the BLUES!

A Letter from Nicolette
Dear Blues Alliance,
Thank you for my organ. I am 11 years old, I had been asking my mom to play an instrument for a long time. We moved back into our house after the hurricane and I knew mom and dad couldn't afford it. Then one day mom told us you were going to give us an organ. I am so happy. Now I play every day.
Thank you so much Blues Alliance.
Your Friend, Nicolette Smith

A Letter from Alexandra
Dear Blues Alliance,
My name is Alexandra. I am nine years old. I take music in my home schooling class. I really like it. Thank you for giving us the organ. I wanted to learn to play. We lost our house in the hurricane and just moved back into our house. Mom and dad can't afford one, but now maybe I can learn to play. Thank you for your gift. God was listening to my mom's prayer. Thank you so much.
Alexandra Smith

“LET US PLAY” and make a joyful noise!
What a pleasure and honor it was on April 16th, for THE BLUES ALLIANCE OF THE TREASURE COAST to donate a myriad of musical instruments to the FUTURE GENERATIONS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY MUSIC ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM, directed by, Joseph Richardson, Jr.
The children and adults alike were very appreciative of the donations. Smiles and hugs were the order of the day.
Representatives from the Blues Alliance were: Bob “Cougar” Whitt (President), Elaine Romano (Vice President) and Patti Gamble (Secretary). After presenting the instruments to the children, pictures were taken and a brief history of The Blues Alliance and the Alliance program, “Let Us Play” were enthusiastically received. “Let Us Play” was conceived by Patti Gamble and became one of the community oriented programs of The Blues Alliance in 2004. The Blues Alliance gratefully accepts new and used musical instruments to then donate to children and/or organizations in need. To donate, please call: 772-467-1851.
A perfect ending to our gathering was hearing the children in concert. Mr. Richardson is an excellent teacher and mentor. When the youngsters play, they are in heaven on earth. And so are all who are in their company. Kudos to the music makers!
